concept dream #...oh, I forget + NOSLEEP, writing, bad mama

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
So this morning, right before my alarm went off, I dreamed I was cooking breakfast for my muses. Only because they were muses, they couldn’t eat normal food, so I had to fry up some symbols for them. No, not symbolically. Symbols. Archetypes and metaphors, mostly; the archetypes were there for nutrition and taste, and the metaphors were the fluffy bits that held it all together. I remember that it was very colorful, and by the time I was done, it looked sort of like an overstuffed omelette/burrito. Yeah.

Also I can't sleep to save my life. Possibly literally, seeing I'm getting less than two hours of sleep most nights, and this has been going on for three weeks or more. Wah. So for dinner tonight I am having the snootiest turkey shepherd's pie I've ever seen. OMG, Zupans, wtf. But there's turkey, so that's a good start! (Considering that sleepytime drugs either don't work on me or work in unexpected ways, I say go with the natural remedy!)

Anyway. Writing! By the 31st there will at least be:

* KH - another bit of Mirrorverse
* VS - another fic for [info]roads_diverged
* FF7 - ditto

More than that I just can't promise (even though I'd really like to have a nice long dated list for you this time around), but if I ever get some sleep, I'll see if I can't also finish that Titus intro fic I comment-teased you on a while back. *hearts* And, y'know, whatever else I can find that needs finishing. Like that Goujun/Konzen fic that needs a sequel/additions made. (My last Saiyuki fic! Waa!) Tooootally dependant on the sleep, man.

Also? One of these days I'll go to Zupans and not focus on how badly I want to get out of there so I can get home and will instead consider the fact that they have pre-sprouted wheatgrass for my cats' dining (and...after-dining) pleasure. OMG, I AM A BAD MAMA. Next time, kitties, I promise....

FIC (Kyou Kara Maou): Duties of a King (Yuuri/Everybody, NC-17, ~3300 words)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I wrote Kyou Kara Maou smutfic. I don't think I've mentioned this fandom before, so, here's a picture to entice folk. (And every one of these characters has sex in this fic. :D )

Kyou Kara Maou is the most yaoi-y fanservice series that isn't actually yaoi ever.

Title: Duties of a King
Fandom: Kyou Kara Maou
Pairings: Harem!smut (Yuuri/Conrad, Yuuri/Gunter, Yuuri/Gwendal, Yuuri/Wolfram)
Rating: (Soft) NC-17
Summary: The Maou has to keep everyone happy.
Word Count: ~3300
A/N: I started this after watching just a few episodes, and right now I'm only twenty episodes into the first season, so, don'tspoilmeandforgivemeiflatercanoncontradictsthiswholething. Thanks to [info]nimori for beta duty!

The Maou works very hard. )

FIC x 2: Gankutsuou, Kuroshitsuji fandoms (Yuletide reveal)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Yuletide was so good to me, in multiple ways--I was assigned Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo to write and I was given it as giftfic, too. And I really wanted to write Count/Albert in this fandom and with my recipient's request I was able to write just what I wanted as well, so, I was happy even before I got my own giftfic. Which turned out to be more Gankutsuou of the sort I wanted to read--one of those "subtext made text from beginning to end" pieces--but couldn't quite write myself. So much thanks to [info]hpstrangelove! And a lovely bonus mood ficlet of the same characters, too, from [info]mithrigil!

I'd also asked for and volunteered to write Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) and did end up writing a ficlet for someone's request, plus there was a Sebastian/Ciel piece (Lucid Dreaming) written that exactly met my own desires in characters, style, and delicious perversity.

Stories wut I wrote:

Fandom: Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo
Evermore
Pairing: The Count/Albert
Rating: Soft NC-17
Words: ~3300
Summary: Albert is in love. That's all he knows and all that matters.
A/N: If you know The Count of Monte Cristo in any form, you should find this accessible, as Gankutsuou is the same story, names and all, set in the future.

Fandom: Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler)
Little Sir Hugh
Characters: Madame Red, Ciel, Sebastian, Grell
Rating: PG
Words: ~700
Summary: "She sat him on a golden chair, she gave him sugar sweet/ She lay him on a dressing board and stabbed him like a sheep."
Lyrics to the Steeleye Span cover of the ballad Little Sir Hugh can be found here.
A/N: The idea of this ballad pastiche--a lady in monochrome, threatening harm to a noble young boy--came to me while watching the anime, and when WhiteCat asked for something about Madame Red I sat down and wrote it.

the Yuletide reveal, etc.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
The Yuletide reveal is in! And I was...probably only slightly less obvious than last year, and for the same recipient. Everything on [info]cadence's prompt list was for a fandom I could do, and they all sounded fascinating, but the one that gave me an idea first was the Nocturne one:

In the Beginning, worksafe with creepiness, set near the True Demon ending. Demifiend/Metatron. In between one world's end and another's beginning, the Word of God is spoken by another.

I was also lucky enough to receive not just one story but two for my "Whiskey in the Jar" request -- Wake, by TheoWinterwood, which is a sensually rich, dreamy piece about not giving up hope in dire circumstances, and Jailbreak, by [info]cleflink, which is a raw-edged vibrant good time like you'd hope from the title (with bonus brotherslash). They're very different takes on the same request and I'm thrilled to have gotten them, not least because they show how much possibility the scenario of the song has. ^_^

g is for gaiden (and l is for lazy)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Okay, yeah, I'm just going to be lazy, here. Because as far as I can tell, I've only got one more WIP to finish, and then I'm, well, done with Saiyuki, barring whatever future requests I let myself in for. (And if I do have any outstanding requests, er, I'll find them eventually, but feel free to jog my memory anyway.)

And because I am lazy, and because someone here might already have what I'm looking for, which would save me from having to google...does anyone know whether anybody finished scanlating the Gaiden stuff? I mean, I think I recall hearing it was complete, anyway, but don't quote me on that. And a casual perusal of the externals shows that I have up through chapter 18, apparently, so it's just whatever's left that I need.

Waaaah, crossing things off lists. It's nice, but it's kind of sad, too. Mostly just when you get to the end.

Which reminds me that in the next few months, I'm going to have to start rounding up FMA tanks in English...as opposed to the giant stack of Japanese tanks I seem to have acquired, which do not help me one bit. So I can start finishing things off for that fandom, starting with figuring out who officially got their name spelled like which. *laughs* Ahhh, all the editing I'm going to be doing...wah....

Anyway, Gaiden--can anyone help a Coyo out? It's for a good cause! --well, it's for fic. But it, uh, keeps me off the streets?

Iron Man Pic - Tony/Steve - Crush [NC-17]

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I am almost finished on all my outstanding commissions. I have only one more sketch to do, one piece gearing up to a full colour draft, and then I need to put several hours into the traditional media piece I auctioned off for charity. A few days and I hope to knock most of that out. :D

So far, the only drawback on my Cintiq is that I need to calibrate the colour to more closely match my primary screen. Either that or I need to work more tonally and then tint and then render out the fine details.

And now, porn.

thanks, guys!

So the mail pretty much stopped running as soon as the snow started falling, as far as I can tell, because I came back to work today to quite the haul....

[info]dogmatix, the books came! Eeee, I didn't actually have a collection of Grimm, believe it or not, and I can't wait to sit down with it and decide which to adapt first! *hearts* And I know I'm going to have great fun with the Halloween one, as well--and how did you know I have a thing for mazes and labyrinths? (They're only some of the coolest recurring plot devices in some of my better dreams!) And Western books are always appreciated--more excuses to write Cowboyverse! *hearts*

[info]dr_schreaber, omg, THE CHOCOBOS. THE CHOCOBOS, omg. They are brilliant! And everyone who saw them was very impressed and complimentary (though only one guy out of my entire building actually knew they were from the Final Fantasy games...why am I the only gamer geek in my entire company?! ...okay, so my boss is a PC gamer geek, but still.) Anyway, they're marvellous, and they're going to go up on the shelf with the OT4 plushies...waaaaay higher than my cats can reach, cos omg, dangerous feather temptation! But dude, yes, gorgeous.

And [info]mailechan--wahahahaha! The tea all looks scrumptious--I especially can't wait to try the blood orange--but that book. Wahahaahahahaa! I'll have you know you kept the entire office entertained with that one as I read bits of it aloud, and I love how they have serious, good information interspersed with the utterly ridiculous--like how they have "How to survive an alligator attack" right before "how to deal with an alligator near your golf ball"...priceless! Now I sort of want to use it to write random snippets, heh...open the book at random and find a wort case scenerio to riff on!

And yay, [info]myeerah! The ginormous box of ginormous books came! Squeee! I can't wait to dig into the myths and the military history, and eee, uniforms! *hearts* Waaah, I have so much awesome reference material to play with! And if I can just stay up long enough tonight, I'm going to try and finish that thing--and what I can't get done tonight, I'll get done tomorrow, and yes, that is my idea of a happy new years...considering that I don't like crowds and can't get drunk, heh!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are all made of awesome and win! *huggles on*

Waaaah, now let's see how long I actually can stay up...argh!

*grump* and mashing things to little bitty...uh, I mean, mashups

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Gah, I am in such a mood. I can just about manage to write, but that's about all I can manage to do at the moment (and even that's pretty uncertain from moment to moment), but it seems to have shifted from incredibly listless to incredibly grumpy. *mutters* Hopefully that won't last much longer, or I'm going to have to take advantage of my bad mood and start writing angst.

.....yeah, I know, I know, angst is canon in most of my current fandoms, and I'd be beating a dead horse, uh...possibly literally considering some of said fandoms, but yeah.

Bad. Effing. Mood.

So I'm listening to mashups! Because I got a craving and because, when done well, they leave me giggly and happy over the sheer impossibility of the combinations. Heh. Some of my current (and long-standing) favorites are:

I worked a 12 hour shift today (woo, moneys), and at 4am tomorrow I'm being trained on the morning bake. No rest for the wicked. This is my omg public service announcement that I'm not going to get to anything at all until tomorrow night at the very earliest. Monday is far more likely for anything important.

Going to eat now. And then sleep.

Rating: Workfriendly for nekkidness and boykissing.
Spoilers/Sequel: Standalone, from no particular 'verse and no particular combination of games, oddly enough...but it's pregame, if by "game" you mean the original stuff.
Notes: Back in late November, I got what is probably one of the coolest emails I've ever had the pleasure to receive. Hearing someone likes my stories? Awesome. Hearing that someone thinks they're birthday prezzie material? That's like doing awesome shots with an awesome chaser, and when you finish the bottle, you go, "Wow, that's awesome." Or something like that. Or, to make a long story short, [info]charcoalcat, [info]toxic_zombie33 would like to wish you a very happy birthday, and hopes that some Sephiroth fic would make a nice addition to your day. Happy birthday! (And get well soon!)

The stuff outside is no longer snow and not quite ice. It is, in my personal opinion, worse than snow. I didn't even make it to the Hill of Doom (the one people sled down every year on anything they can find--cardboard, rubber trash can tops, couches, actual sleds) before I gave up, turned around, and came back.

I have an insatiable craving for the lemon pepper chicken at Zupans, but if I could walk 24 blocks, I'd be at work by now, so no lemon pepper chicken for me.

RARR.

Fuck this, I'm going back to bed. Which. Might be difficult considering the 16 cups of 500 Mile Chai I drank last night yes 16. Whut.

Wake me when it thaws, huh?

rec fail, slash win

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I have an initial set fics waiting for rec writeups, but instead of doing that, there was quality time spent with the household. J and I went on a bike ride that after the initial freezing chill of doom turned out to be really lovely, and the evening was set aside for Honey and Clover.

When I wasn't drawing or otherwise poking around in the kitchen for sustenance, I was, uh, distracted. And my distracted I mean burning through comic books. My descent back into collecting is cemented. I know, it's probably not front page news.

So I was up on all the major Civil War plot points in the Marvel universe, right? I just had no idea that it was really all about Iron Man and Captain America and their tragic, tragic love for one another. Augh. D:

Yesterday, my mommy gave me substantially more Christmas money than I was expecting, which may come in handy now that I'm trying to decide just how far back I want to go in catching up on current canon. DDDD:
